A specialty pharmacy running a fast-growing direct-to-patient program reached the point where order volume was climbing faster than its storage could keep up. The team needed last-mile packaging that could scale with demand without taking over the pharmacy floor.
The pharmacy started at roughly 50 orders a day, about one pallet of coolers, and grew to around 200 orders a day. EPS coolers no longer fit the available storage, and inbound freight was expensive because so few coolers travel on a pallet. Order volumes were growing faster than storage capacity could handle.
TempAid moved the program to the SpeedyPac Mailer, with phase-change material integrated into an envelope-style format tuned to the 15 to 30°C range. Shipments go out without pre-conditioning or separate refrigerants, and the flat mailer replaces the bulk of a rigid cooler.
The mailer freed the storage space coolers had consumed and made inbound freight cheaper by fitting far more units on every pallet. Lighter, smaller parcels ship at the rate of mail, lowering courier cost on the way out. The pack-out now scales with order volume instead of fighting it.
Against 72 to 96 EPS coolers per pallet, recovering the storage the program had run out of.
